Salthouse · Portishead

A new kind of church, the size of a table

We’re not one big congregation. We’re a family of small communities meeting every week across Portishead — in halls, cafés, front rooms, even the woods — and once a month, the whole tide comes in and we gather as one.

What’s a micro church?

Church small enough to know you, honest enough to be known in, and shaped to fit real life.

Small

A dozen or so people, few enough that everyone is known. Unhurried, meaningful conversation — nobody gets lost in the crowd, because there isn't one.

Distinct

No two communities are alike: each has its own people, its own style, its own day and time. Find the one that fits your life — they happily overlap.

Together

Once a month every community gathers under one roof to worship, celebrate, and share a meal — one church with many tables.

Weekly

Your micro church meets wherever suits it best — what matters isn’t the room but the conversation: encouragement and resources for your walk with God through the week ahead.

Monthly

Everyone, all together, one celebration — and a meal shared as friends, because growing together is part of the point. High tide for the whole Salthouse family.

Three communities so far, each with its own feel and rhythm — and room at every one. Come as you are; no experience of church required.

Who we are

Salthouse grew out of the Baptist family, and we’re grateful for those roots. But we hold our shape lightly: we think church is less a building you visit and more a people you belong to. So we’ve traded one big gathering for many small ones, scattered through — and around — the town we love.
